Here’s what I do
As well as working as an editor on Nokia Conversations, I also manage and direct the business, alongside Mike Cooper. Chiefly that involves buying coffee, but also means I make sure people get paid, we get paid, and our now-nationalised banks receive their regular injections of liquidity. Technology also falls under my brief, alongside myriad other things that mean we can keep on publishing great websites.
My background
I’ve worked in publishing for over 18 years, the first half in magazines, the next quarter online and the last quarter online and in print. Before starting Republic Publishing with Mike and Clive, I was editor-in-chief of T3 magazine.
Why I like working on Nokia Conversations
Conversations is a huge opportunity to explore stories that rarely get told – that’s the very brief about the site. We get to spend time looking at what’s going on in the developing world, and talking to some good people doing some great stuff. We also get to work alongside some talented and innovative folks.
